You might have heard that we have a couple of new additions to the Four Pillars Gin family officially joining us this week. Not one, but two barrel aged gins, both with very distinct characteristics.
So here they are – Four Pillar’s first ever Sherry Cask Gin and Solera No. 7 of the newly-christened Chardonnay Barrel Gin, both in new 500mL bottles.
Most of you will be familiar with the previous releases of Four Pillar’s barrel aged gin. This seventh release of the Chardonnay Barrel Gin has been in barrel about six months longer than the 2017 release, showing more preserved ginger notes, richer spice, and oaky sweetness.
And the brand new release is one Four Pillar’s have been experimenting with for a while. This first Sherry Cask Gin is taken from a 42 barrel solera of ex-Sherry barrels. The final blend is given a tweak of Amontillado Sherry from Spain, producing a sipping gin with nutty, sweet flavours.
