GLENDRONACH DEBUTS NEW GRANDEUR BATCH 10

GlenDronach has launched the 10th expression in its limited edition Grandeur range, a 27-year-old single malt matured in some of the distillery’s ‘oldest and most unique’ Sherry casks.

‘Intense Sherry’: GlenDronach Grandeur Batch 10 has been matured in ex-PX and oloroso Sherry casks

Grandeur Batch 10 is described as an ‘intense Sherry expression’ containing notes of ‘morello cherries in dark chocolate’ with a finish comprised of ‘black truffle, old-fashioned treacle gingerbread, prune and walnut oil’.

Bottled at 50.1% abv, the whisky has been matured in a combination of ex-PX and oloroso Sherry puncheons and butts.

GlenDronach master blender Rachel Barrie said: ‘With layers of damson plum, black walnut and truffle on a bed of antique leather and old-fashioned treacle gingerbread, Batch 10 celebrates the robust, full-bodied style of the GlenDronach distillery.’

Only 2,293 bottles of the limited edition malt are available worldwide from specialist retailers, priced around £499.

GlenDronach Grandeur Batch 9, released in February 2018, was a 24-year-old single malt made from a vatting of three different vintages.
