Born in the heart of Bourbon country in Bardstown Kentucky, Johnny Drum is a superb sour mash whiskey. Rumour has it the name is a tribute to Johnny Drum who, like many men his age in

that era, attempted to join the Confederate army before he was of the legal age to fight. Being under age, the young men were only allowed to join as drummers to assist with communications and order, hence the name, Johnny Drum. We can’t vouch for the authenticity of that story but we can vouch for this: Bottled by Johnny Drum Distilling Company, the methods of production have remained unchanged down through 5 generations of the same family of master distillers. With the typical mash bill of at least 51% corn, and aged for at least 5 years, this is described as an ‘old fashioned sour mash, handmade in Kentucky’ – does it get any better than that?
