Sonoma County Distilling Co

California’s Sonoma County Distillers Now in Australia

Founded in California in 2010, Sonoma County Distilling Company produces high-quality whiskeys for the discerning drinker. Incorporating a grain to glass philosophy, each level of production is handled in-house, including the mashing and fermentation of grains, American oak barrel ageing, bottling, and labelling.

The final products are the result of time-honoured traditions, from using direct fire alembic stills and hand separation, allowing the distiller and production team to oversee each aspect.

Sonoma County Distilling Co. currently has three whiskey expressions available to the Australian and New Zealand markets; the Sonoma Cherrywood Rye Whiskey, 2nd Chance Wheat Whiskey, and West of Kentucky No.2 Bourbon.

Cherrywood Rye

The Sonoma Cherrywood Rye Whiskey is made using a base of rye grain with wheat and California Cherrywood smoked barley, and is ideal for rye fans and those seeking out flavours in a classic Manhattan cocktail.

2nd Chance Wheat Whiskey

Sonoma County 2nd Chance Wheat Whiskey is a lighter style, with the name referring to the typically forgotten grain. This whiskey has a foundation of un-malted wheat, paired with malted rye that is then twice direct-fire distilled to create a spirit that’s influenced by the coastal heritage of the distillery.

West of Kentucky Bourbon

Sonoma County West of Kentucky No.2 Bourbon is a refined, wheated bourbon starting with American yellow corn, followed by wheat as the secondary grain. It’s aged in new, charred American oak for no less than one year, showcasing the mellow flavours of vanilla, almond, toffee and butterscotch.
