MALIBU RUM JUST RELEASED A WATERMELON FLAVOR THAT’S BASICALLY A PASSPORT TO A TROPICAL ISLAND

There’s something about Malibu Rum that just makes you feel like it’s summer. Actually, that something is the fact that it’s a Caribbean rum with natural coconut flavor that happens to taste amazing when mixed with fruity juices. Now you’ll really feel like you’re on vacation with the new Watermelon flavor.

Malibu has a way of low-key dropping new flavors without make a big deal out of it — like it did with its strawberry-flavored rum last year — which means we get to be surprised when it turns up in the liquor store. Although it’s only February, we’re getting in summer mode with the watermelon variety that appears to have begun popping up on shelves last month.

As you’d expect, Malibu Watermelon (21% ABV) blends the coconut rum with watermelon flavor. The result is a fresh taste that will instantly transport you to an island. Is it happy hour yet?

“Introducing the newest addition to the Malibu range — Malibu Watermelon! Caribbean Rum blended with the ripe, juicy and refreshing taste of Watermelon flavor and a smooth and fruity finish, Malibu Watermelon is made for summer! For chilled moments with friends, simply add soda and share, or stir things up with a Malibu Watermelon Mojito,” Malibu describes the flavor.

Malibu hasn’t detailed the availability for the new flavor, but we’d say that it’s safe to assume you can find it wherever Malibu is sold. You just might have to give it some time to roll out. Happy sipping!

  1. As you mentioned, coconut flavour of rum when mixed with fresh juices, gives the feeling of the vacation. It is good to know that they are now they are also providing watermelon flavour. It could be a perfect drink for upcoming season.

Even if not much details are available, people are going to love it. Thanks for posting such news.

  2. I love Malibu Rum but have to say this new Watermelon flavor is not a hit with me. It taste like the ground up the rind & left the meat out. Doesn’t have a good taste. Was expecting the red juicy flavor of watermelon.
